From generation to generation

So Brian and I are in Nashville right now. We are here for the National Youth Workers Convention which has been really cool. It could actually require its own post. I will say though that it's amazing to see thousands (like 8,000) people joining together to impact the lives of young people. So thinking about that, God has been showing me how we could be changing the lives of people not even born yet! God has a plan for everyone and isn't it amazing that he would use us to affect the lives of others? The lives of teenagers, people suffering, our children, our chidren's children, etc.

Tonight we visited a wonderful church that we have visited before in Brentwood. They had a night of worship. During the worship, the worship leader took a moment to ask us all to sing a prayer over our children and even for the generations to come.

"There is no one like our God, there is no one like our God.
For greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done in this city.
Greater things have yet to come
and greater things are still to be done in this city."

We don't know what God has planned but we know it's going to be great because His plans for us are for our good. Let's think about what we are depositing into the lives of the people around us that is going to last...forever.

Come on, everybody else is doing it...

Well, I finally decided to break down and do it. I said I wouldn't for a number of reasons. One being that I didn't want people expecting me to tell them stuff about my life all the time. Another reason was I didn't want to get in the rut of telling people about mundane things like how I might be doing the laundry or cleaning up crushed Cheerios out of the carpet. I also thought why would people want to read about my life? Well, maybe some do and some don't but I finally decided to start a blog because I really like reading other people's. Now not just because it's time consuming. I love to hear what God is doing in people's lives. I love to hear how we are all being used in this great story that He is writing. So, you'll see that I've named my blog "Add to the Beauty." Now don't think I came up with that on my own cuz I didn't. I borrowed it from one of my favorite Sara Groves' songs. It's all about us just adding to this great story that God is writing with us and through us. So, I hope that my blog would be encouraging and remind you that God is using you to add to the beauty here as well.
